Ballinrobe Race Course will host Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band as part of the Home to Mayo Festival.

To celebrate this year’s month-long Home to Mayo Festival, Ballinrobe Racecourse will be turned Green and Red to welcome the Diaspora on Monday 30 May.
An evening race meeting will take place from 4.30pm to 8.30pm approx with tickets on sale online.

The racecourse has teamed up with the Mayo Manchester Tradfest and visitors to the evening family-friendly race meeting will be greeted by the award-winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band.

Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football Club will host a series of events with the band to keep the crowds entertained.

Racecourse manager, John Flannelly commented, “It promises to be a fantastic evening and we look forward to hosting this flagship event for the inaugural ‘Home to Mayo’ festival organised by Mayo County Council.”

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester added “We are delighted to visit the racecourse as part of this years week-long Mayo Manchester Tradfest which runs from Thursday 27 to Tuesday 31 May. The week-long festival is staging a range of Traditional Irish music, song, and dance events with over 100 performers taking part from Mayo and Manchester.
The festival will stage events in Achill, Attymass, Ashford Castle, Ballina, Ballinrobe, Castlebar, Cong, Killala and Westport.”
