Ladies Day announced for 2011

The date for Ballinrobe Ladies Day 2011 has  been announced – it will take place on Tuesday, June 21st.

This is one of the most eagerly awaited meetings of the year.

More details to follow on the events of the day in the near future.

Major €1.3m development is completed at Ballinrobe

The opening meeting at Ballinrobe this year (Tuesday, May 4th) will be a very special one indeed, as punters are treated to their first sight of yet another major development at the progressive Co. Mayo course. Over the winter, Ballinrobe has added the following facilities at a cost of €1.3m, including significant funding from Horse Racing Ireland:

  • 160-seater restaurant
  • New entrance hall
  • New pavilion behind the main stand
  • New Carra Bar

These new developments are all about giving our customers greater comfort on the days of races. Our supporters have stood by us through thick and thin, and they take great pride in watching the on-going developments at the course,” said Racecourse Manager John Flannelly.

The official opening of the new facilities will take place at the meeting on Tuesday, June 22nd.
The course is also adding a new track extension which, according to Mr Flannelly, is “maturing nicely.” It is expected to be ready for racing late 2011 or early 2012.
