McHale Raceday Set to Thrill on May 26th
€100,000 Prize Fund for The Listed McHale Mayo National
McHale Raceday marks one of the racing highlights in Ballinrobe Racecourse’s calendar and takes place this year on Monday 26th May. Ballinrobe-based company McHale are proud sponsor of the 7 race card featuring the Listed McHale Mayo National and the McHale Mayo Hurdle. It is all you could ask for in an evening race meeting, great racing, great atmosphere and great value! The first race goes to post at 4:25pm.
McHale Raceday 2025 was officially launch by freelance broadcaster Meghann Scully and representatives of Ballinrobe Racecourse and McHale in late April. As part of the launch a video interview series will be posted on Ballinrobe Races social media channels on the run up to McHale raceday. The series gives a great insight into McHale Raceday and what happens behind the scenes. Stay tuned!

Ballinrobe Racecourse is also thrilled to confirm that Rásaí Beo on TG4 will return to broadcast live from the race meeting for the fourth year running, bringing all the action and atmosphere of the flagship raceday to viewers across the country.
Established over 30 years ago, McHale, a family-run business , produces a range of specialist farm machinery focusing on balers and bale wrappers and is a major employer in the Ballinrobe area. Manufacturing takes place at a purpose-built factory in Ballinrobe.
In 2024, Duffle Coat won the McHale Mayo National ridden by Sam Ewing and trained by Gordon Elliott. The 14/1 was prominent throughout winning by 8 lengths to claim the feature race on the card.
Baltic Bird claimed the McHale Mayo Hurdle in 2024 for William Durkan and jockey Oakley Brown.
