Ballinrobe-based company McHale are proud sponsors of the McHale Mayo National and the McHale Mayo Hurdle, Ballinrobe Racecourse’s most valuable races.
This season the McHale Mayo National Handicap Chase has been awarded Grade B status and becomes the first Pattern race to be run at Ballinrobe.
It marks one of the racing highlights in Ballinrobe Racecourse’s calendar and takes places this year on Sunday 6th September at 2:05pm. unfortunately the meeting will take place behind closed doors.
In 2019, the Peter Fahey trained Peregrine Run won the McHale Mayo National under jockey K Sexton.
The McHale Mayo H’Cap Hurdle was won by Sole Pretender, trained by Norman Lee and ridden by J.J.Burke.
Established over 30 years ago, McHale will sponsor seven races on the day. The family-run business produces a range of specialist farm machinery focusing on balers and bale wrappers and is a major employer in the Ballinrobe area. Manufacturing takes place at a purpose-built factory in Ballinrobe.
