Ballinrobe-based company McHale are proud sponsors of the McHale Mayo National (Grade B) and the McHale Mayo Hurdle. They are Ballinrobe Racecourse’s most valuable races with The McHale Mayo National of €60,000 and the McHale Mayo H’Cap Hurdle of €30,000
It marks one of the racing highlights in Ballinrobe Racecourse’s calendar and takes place this year on Tuesday 31st May. We cannot wait to welcome back crowds to McHale Raceday this year following a 2-year absence of racegoers attending.

In 2021, Julies Stowaway won the McHale Mayo Handicap Hurdle. Julies Stowaway was trained by Ms Margaret Mullins and ridden by DE Mullins.

The McHale Mayo National was won by the Thomas Gibney trained Agent Boru and ridden by PT Enright.
Established over 30 years ago, McHale will sponsor seven races on the day. The family-run business produces a range of specialist farm machinery focusing on balers and bale wrappers and is a major employer in the Ballinrobe area. Manufacturing takes place at a purpose-built factory in Ballinrobe.
