Ballinrobe-based company McHale are proud sponsors of the McHale Mayo National and the McHale Mayo Hurdle, both valued at €50,000, Ballinrobe Racecourse’s most valuable races. It marks one of the racing highlights in Ballinrobe Racecourse’s calendar. Known as McHale day, the raceday forms the second part of a two-day national hunt meeting at the end of May. It will take place on Tuesday 28th May this year.
In 2018, the PMJ Doyle trained Kasier Black won the McHale Mayo National under jockey Jack Kennedy.
Established over 30 years ago, McHale will sponsor seven races on the day. The family-run business produces a range of specialist farm machinery focusing on balers and bale wrappers and is a major employer in the Ballinrobe area. Manufacturing takes place at a purpose-built factory in Ballinrobe.
