Ladies Day Prizes Worth Over €2500 to be Won
Sinéad Desmond, host of TV3’s flagship morning programme, Ireland AM, will judge this year’s Vaughan Shoes Ladies Day at Ballinrobe on 21st June.
Following the success of last year’s event, local company, Vaughan Shoes are once again supporting the popular evening event, sponsoring the Ladies Day prizes and all seven races on the card.
The winner of the Best Dressed Lady competition will walk away with a top prize of €1,500 cash and there will be goody bags to the value of €130 for nine runners-up.
Style Judge, Sinéad Desmond, said: “I’ve been reliably informed that the Vaughan Shoes Ladies Day at Ballinrobe Racecourse is one of the most stylish ladies days at one of the most picturesque tracks in the country, so I am really looking forward to visiting the track for the first time and judging ladies day. The ladies of the West are renowned for their sense of style. I’ll be looking for colour, individuality and a look that is racing appropriate – I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.”

The winner of last year’s Vaughan Shoes Ladies Day was Sinead Burke from Kilconly, Tuam, Co Galway. Sinead, a Nurse at University College Hospital Galway, wore a white shift dress from Ivy Boutique in Tuam, her shoes were from Dune and her pale pink headpiece was designed by Galway-based milliner, Caithriona King.
The feature race is the Vaughanshoes.ie European Breeders Fund Fillies handicap valued at €22,500.
