Noel retires following 44 years of service at Ballinrobe Racecourse
Noel O’Malley retires this October following 44 years of service at Ballinrobe Racecourse. Noel started working in the racecourse in 1979 and is an integral part of the track team. Noel worked with previous track foremen, Mickey O’Malley, Tony Walsh, and most recently Cathal Flannelly. Over the last number of years, himself, Cathal, John and David have worked tirelessly on the track to make it the success it is.
Also, on raceday, Noel worked in the stable staff office, greeting stable staff and trainers and ensuring all went smoothly within the stable yard area. To receive the Racecourse Award in this year’s Irish Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, which is voted by the stable staff, was a proud moment for Noel and all the team. A nod of appreciation for all the work that goes on behind the scenes.
All the team and committee would like to thank Noel for his dedication and hard work over the last 44 years. We would like to wish him well in his retirement, he will be missed!
